This interesting tour starts at the Amstel canal and the Amstel river and continues through the eastern part of the city center.
After the Amstel Hotel and the Royal Carré Theater you will enter the distinguished Plantage area. You will pass the Hortus Botanicus and several buildings of the University of Amsterdam. If you´re lucky you will even spot some wild animals while rounding the Artis Zoo. After some impressive merchant houses at the Entrepotdok the tour continues along the Naval Museum, the New Metropolis museum, the Post CS building, the new library and the replica of the old Batavia vessel. On the way back to the Amstel you will get a good view of the windmill of 't IJ Brewery, the Dapper market and the Tropenmuseum. Without any breaks this is a tour of a bit more than two hours.
